EcoStars is just me, Kelly. I'm a mama to four young kids-Gabrielle is four, Holli and Asha are three and Rex is two, plus number five is due to join us Christmas Day! I'm fan of all things handmade and squeeze in as much sewing, crocheting and craft as I can manage around parenting, homeschooling and gardening. I've sewn all my life, bar a few years when schooling got in the way, and am yearning for the day when the kids are older and I can immerse myself in all things creative, without being constantly interrupted!
I began making nappies for my children when I had three in nappies and was lacking cash. I started off using free patterns but found I wasn't satisfied with any of them, so began experimenting. That's where the Basic Fitteds came from, and when I started getting requests to buy I began sewing in earnest, and have been selling formally since March 2007. My other products have been developed since then, with a strong focus on practicality with good looks.
I'm currently streamlining my range as it was all getting too complicated and cumbersome for me-there will be no more of any of the current products except the Starry Nights. But what will replace it will be great.
My nanna, Judith, does all the knitteds. She has been knitting for over 40 years and does a fantastic job. She used to do all her selling herself offline but since since suffering from a detached retina i've taken over the job for her.
