COMING SOON! I have replaced the Basic Fitteds with a new OSFM fitted that has some very cool features. Testing is underway and I hope to have more information here soon.

Starry Nights Night Nappies
Four cloth bums in a row
Because night nappies don't have to be boring or complicated!

These nappies were developed in desperation, as I had all four of my children in night nappies for over two years, and all the pieces and covers of fitteds were simply getting to be too much for me to wash, dry, assemble and put on every night-especially when I was living in Tasmania during winter.

EcoStars Starry Night night nappies are straightforward to use. They are fleece pockets, with an outer of whatever 100% polyester looks funky and takes my fancy (usually fleece or minky), a hidden layer of 200wt equivalent fleece, and an inner of microfleece, suedecloth or a natural fibre. The two outer layers of fleece/polyester perform better than 300wt at containing compression leaking while still breathing well. They come ready with unique bamboo fleece/needlefelt stuffers that add up to 12 very generous layers, and for heavy wetters and tummy sleepers there is the option of adding other specialised boosters. Side-snaps for secure fastening allow you to adjust the nappy for your childs shape and gentle elasticising on front, back and both legs gives a snug fit. No snaps, velcro or topstitching across the top means they can be stuffed right to the top seam.

The included boosters come in two pieces-the shaped booster consists of two times two shaped layers of bamboo with a strip of needlefelt down the centre, joined at the front. A bamboo trifold finishes the boosters off, giving you 10 layers of bamboo and two of needlefelt. The curved booster covers the entire inner and the trifold runs the length of the nappy. No more than two layers of bamboo fleece in any of the standard boosters means they are quick to dry so you need less nappies. Options of a front-wetter booster that covers the entire front and centre of the nappy and an hourglass heavy wetter booster that runs the whole length are also available. Both are made of three layers of bamboo fleece.

Once stuffed they are like an AIO and as easy to put on as a disposable, making them perfect for babysitters and dads that may not be as interested in the nuances of cloth as you! And when it comes to un-stuffing in the morning, ripstop nylon pullstrings avoid the unpleasant job of having to dive in after and handle sodden boosters.

I am currently doing two versions. Both versions have waist measurements of 38cms on the smallest snap setting, to a whopping 54cms unstretched.

The StandardStarryNight is for medium to heavy wetters, and is labelled as large. With a lower rise of 38cms unstretched these give great absorbency without being too bulky. These fit from around 8kgs until no longer needed-the biggest child tested was 19.5kgs and still a comfortable fit.

The SuperStarryNight is the serious night nappy and is labelled as extra large. With a long rise of 50cms without stretching, these are perfect for heavy wetters and tummy sleepers. The SuperStarry fits best from 11kgs upwards-due to the high rise it can be bulky on smaller children.

Extra boosters-for those babies who seem to out-wet everything. Both types are made from three layers of bamboo and are $3.00 each. These are only available to people buying a StarryNights, or those who have previously bought. Added to the standard boosters one of these gives you a total of 15 layers absorbency.

Tummy sleeper boosters-specially made for boys and tummy sleepers who tend to get very wet mainly around the front, these boosters are shaped to cover the entire front of the nappy, giving you absorbency exactly where you need it.

Heavy wetter boosters-An hourglass shaped booster for all-over absorbency.
